WELCOME THE DELEGATION OF UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA AT HANOI UNIVERSITY OF PHARMACY

On the morning of June 20, 2024, Hanoi University of Pharmacy welcomed the delegation of University of Sydney, Australia led by Prof. Andrew McLachlan, Rector of the School of Pharmacy, University of Sydney, Australia and Prof.Bandana Saini and lecturers from the University of Sydney, Australia to discuss and work on cooperation in implementing the Dual Degree Program. On the side of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, there were Prof. Nguyen Hai Nam, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Thanh Hai, Vice Rector and staff in charge of participating in the Dual Degree Program.

University of Sydney (USYD) is one of the leading teaching and research universities in Australia. The School of Pharmacy, under University of Sydney is one of Australia's top pharmacy schools, consistently ranked among the world's best schools for teaching and education and has a global reputation, especially for its high-quality research. According to the Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi University of Pharmacy and University of Sydney, Australia, the 3+3.5 pathway dual degree program is expected to enroll students from 2024, students who fully complete the requirements of the subjects in the course from both schools can be awarded a degree from Hanoi University of Pharmacy and a degree from University of Sydney.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed specific implementation plans on the roadmap and admission procedures, how to manage, scholarships and other benefits of students when participating in the program; exchanged proposals to be able to provide the best conditions to help students promote their abilities in learning, practice and scientific research. On behalf of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Prof. Nguyen Hai Nam highly appreciated the cooperation program with University of Sydney, Australia, which is the first joint pharmacy training program in Vietnam and hoped that the two sides could develop cooperation activities to help students have more learning experiences in the international environment and increase career opportunities labour market.
