Welcome the delegation of University of Sydney, Australia at Hanoi University of Pharmacy

On the morning of June 20, 2024, Hanoi University of Pharmacy welcomed a delegation from the University of Sydney, Australia, led by Prof. Andrew McLachlan, Rector of the School of Pharmacy, University of Sydney, Australia, along with Prof. Bandana Saini and other lecturers from the University of Sydney. Prof. Nguyen Hai Nam, Rector of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thi Thanh Hai, Vice Rector, and staff involved in the Dual Degree Program were also present.

The University of Sydney (USYD) is a leading teaching and research university in Australia. The School of Pharmacy at the University of Sydney is consistently ranked among the world's best, renowned for its high-quality teaching, education, and research.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi University of Pharmacy and the University of Sydney, Australia, the 3+3.5 pathway dual degree program is scheduled to commence student enrollment in 2024. Students who successfully fulfill the academic requirements of both institutions will be awarded degrees from both Hanoi University of Pharmacy and the University of Sydney.

At the meeting, both sides discussed specific implementation plans, including the roadmap, admission procedures, student management, scholarships, and other student benefits. They also exchanged proposals to optimize the learning environment and facilitate student development in academics, practical skills, and research.

On behalf of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Prof. Nguyen Hai Nam expressed his deep appreciation for the collaborative program with the University of Sydney, Australia, which represents the first joint pharmacy training program in Vietnam. He expressed his hope that both institutions could further develop collaborative activities to enhance student learning experiences in an international environment and improve their career prospects.
