Welcoming the Delegation of China Medical University, Taiwan (China)
On the morning of March 6, 2025, Prof. Dr. Chiung-Tong Chen, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, China Medical University (CMU), Taiwan, China, visited and worked with Hanoi University of Pharmacy.
Welcoming the delegation, on behalf of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuyen – Vice Rector, along with representatives from the Faculty of Pharmacology – Clinical Pharmacy, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, heads from the Department of Academic Affairs and the Department of Science Technology - Development Cooperation, as well as relevant staff.
China Medical University, Taiwan (China) has been a long-standing partner of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, with a framework cooperation agreement in training and scientific research for over 20 years. Many students and lecturers from Hanoi University of Pharmacy have studied at CMU and returned to contribute effectively to the university in terms of educational integration and strengthening scientific research.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Chiung-Tong Chen introduced opportunities for study, scholarship programs, research laboratories, and research priorities at CMU to lecturers and researchers from the Faculties of Pharmacology – Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, and Pharmacognosy – Traditional Medicine, as well as to graduate students and fifth-year students of the university. Particularly, the discussion focused on programs and opportunities for international students and lecturers, especially those from Hanoi University of Pharmacy, who wish to pursue Master's or Ph.D. studies in Taiwan.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam and Prof. Dr. Chiung-Tong Chen agreed on several key areas for future cooperation: (i) Strengthening the exchange of lecturers, researchers, and staff between the two universities; (ii) Enhancing scientific research collaboration, particularly in the development of new drugs and natural compound-based medicines; (iii) Continuing to implement student exchange programs, prioritizing short-term research exchange programs.
Concluding the visit, Prof. Dr. Chiung-Tong Chen expressed gratitude for the warm welcome from Hanoi University of Pharmacy and hoped that the cooperation between the two universitites would expand and be further strengthened in the future.
