WARM WINTER 2025: SPREADING LOVE AND WARMTH FROM THE YOUTH OF PHARMACY – MEDICINE
As the chilling early winter days gradually blanket the mountainous villages, many families, the elderly, and children face shortages in both material needs and healthcare. In the midst of these hardships, the spirit of solidarity and compassion— a precious tradition of the Vietnamese people — shines brightly once again. Embracing this spirit, under the direction of the University’s Board of Rectors, the Youth Union of Hanoi University of Pharmacy organized the “Warm Winter” program, carried out by the Volunteer Youth Team of Hanoi University of Pharmacy in collaboration with the Youth Union of Hanoi Medical University Hospital.
The program took place from November 29–30, 2025 in Kien Dai Commune, Tuyen Quang Province — one of the disadvantaged communes in Vietnam. Here, the Volunteer Youth Team of Hanoi University of Pharmacy conducted various meaningful and practical community activities. Representing Kien Dai Commune were Mr. Ta Quoc Hoan, Member of the Commune Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee; leaders of the Party Construction Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the commune; and the Board of Directors along with teachers of Kien Dai Boarding Primary School and Kien Dai Boarding Lower Secondary School. Representing Hanoi University of Pharmacy were Dr. Vu Xuan Giang, Head of the Department of Student Affairs - Clinics; Dr. Nguyen Cong Truong, Secretary of the Youth Union; and Dr. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, Head of the Medical Station and chief medical supervisor. From the Youth Union of Hanoi Medical University were Mr. Chau Thanh Quang, Member of the Youth Union Executive Committee and Head of the Youth Union Office. The program also welcomed doctors and pharmacists from the Youth Union of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, lecturers, pharmacists, and nearly 50 volunteers from Hanoi University of Pharmacy, along with enthusiastic participation from local residents.

Medical examination and free medicine distribution
The medical examination and free medicine distribution took place from the afternoon of November 29 until the morning of November 30, 2025, at Kien Dai Boarding Primary School. Doctors directly conducted screenings, provided health consultations, instructed safe and appropriate medication use, and shared winter healthcare knowledge with residents. More than 400 people received medical examinations and consultations, helping raise awareness about basic community healthcare. Under the guidance of lecturers and with professional support from medical and pharmacy students, residents were carefully examined, informed about their health conditions, and instructed on how to take care of themselves in cold weather — especially in preventing respiratory illnesses, flu, and joint pain, which are common in winter. The activity not only provided free access to healthcare services but also contributed to improving public awareness of proactive health protection.

Each gift served as a message of encouragement and care from the volunteers. The warm smiles and emotional expressions of the villagers made the journey to Kien Dai even more meaningful
