Scientific session on the theme "Legal Aspects of Biopharmaceutical Management"
On November 6th, 2023, within the framework of the side-events of the Asian Federation Pharmaceutical Science 2023 (AFPS 2023) Conference, Hanoi University of Pharmacy organized a scientific session on the theme 'Legal Aspects of Biopharmaceutical Management' featuring the participation of Mr. Martin O'Kane, Head of Regional Regulatory Affairs EU Policy & Liaison Novartis.
On November 6th, 2023, within the framework of the side-events of the Asian Federation Pharmaceutical Science 2023 (AFPS 2023) Conference, Hanoi University of Pharmacy organized a scientific session on the theme 'Legal Aspects of Biopharmaceutical Management' featuring the participation of Mr. Martin O'Kane, Head of Regional Regulatory Affairs EU Policy & Liaison Novartis.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Thanh Huong - Dean of Faculty of Biotechnology, led the discussion with the participation ofheads, deputies, department heads, and lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmacology - Clinical Pharmacy, Department of Analytical Chemistry and Drug Quality Control, Basic Science, and representatives from several universities and pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. The discussion focused on the theme ‘Legal Aspects of Biopharmaceutical Management,' a relatively new subject in Vietnam in recent years, fostering a vibrant and open exchange. Mr. Martin O'Kane, with extensive experience in legal groups focusing on clinical trials and drug management ofEuropean and international pharmaceutical regulatory agencies, partly addressed queries from participating delegates regarding the research and development process of drugs and biopharmaceuticals, as well as notable issues in their management and approval of these products. Following this discussion, Mr. Martin O’Kane will continue with two presentations during the AFPS 2023 Conference on the afternoon of November 8th (Symposium on ADVANCED THERAPIES - Cell and Gene) and November 9th (Overview of Advanced Therapies and Drugs) as a keynote speaker, promising to provide updated information on advanced therapeutic products for conference participants.
