Invitation to workshops on UK-VN partnership opportunities from British Council

British Council in Vietnam invite you and/or relevant colleagues of your higher education institutions to join workshops on UK-VN partnership opportunities and activities that are either organised or supported by BC. Those activities aim at sharing knowledge, experiences and facilitating partnerships for UK and Viet Nam higher education institutions.

English in higher education - challenges, opportunities, current practice and future trends. 

This 90-minute session will explore English as a medium of education (EME) in higher education (HE), looking at the challenges and opportunities EME presents for learners, teachers and decision makers, particularly in low and middle income countries (LMICs). We will look at current practice LMIC contexts and potential future trends in EME in HE. The session draws on three recent publications and research:

  1. ​English in higher education - English medium, a British Council perspective
  2. Global mapping of English as a medium of instruction in higher education: 2020 and beyond
  3. Current practice in EME - Case studies from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh and Nepal
