COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course, which emphasizes the role of pharmacists in hospital AMS programme, seeks to foster the development of a strong knowledgebase in pharmacy training to successfully implement an antimicrobial stewardship program that will improve patient care, reduce healthcare expenditures and potentially reduce rates of resistance and prolong the longevity of the limited number of antimicrobial agents available to treat infections.

The course is designed to provide the basic knowledge about the principles of hospital AMS for clinical pharmacists and other hospital pharmacists to be able to take on the role of pharmacist in the Hospital AMS program according to decision 5631 QD/BYT dated December 31, 2020 on the Document "Guidelines for the implementation of Antimicrobial Stewardship in hospitals".​
