Receiving the delegation of the Guangxi Institute for Drug Control, China
On the morning of January 10th, 2024, the delegation of the Guangxi Institute for Drug Control, China led by Prof. Dr. Wei Guanghui, Deputy Director of the Guangxi Institute for Drug Control, had paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Pharmacy.
Welcoming the delegation, for HUP side, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam - Rector, Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuyen - Vice Rector as well as the representatives of the Faculty of Pharmacognosy & Traditional Medicine and the Science Technology - Cooperation Development Office.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Wei Guanghui, Deputy Director of the Guangxi Institute for Drug Control, had brief introduction of these office consists of organizational structure, personnel, achievements and some outstanding research along with the high-tech laboratory system and facilities of Guangxi Institute for Drug Control.
For the HUP side, Dr. Hoang Quynh Hoa - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Pharmacognosy and Traditional Medicine gave an overview of the potential of medicinal herbs and research directions for product development from some commonly grown medicinal herbs in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam and Prof. Dr. Wei Guanghui has agreed on a number of priority cooperation contents in the coming time: (i) Improving the capacity in training, scientific research and student exchange; (ii) Finding out the common current situation and desire to cooperate on Vietnam's medicinal resources (origin, type, output, distribution...) as well as the trade situation of this medicinal herb with other countries; (iii) Bilateral cooperation in exchanging researchers and scientists between the two sides in coordinating and implementing research topics related to medicinal herbs (iv) Learning and registering to participate together at project "Outstanding young ASEAN scientists to work in China and Guangxi" of the Guangxi Department of Science and Technology.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Wei Guanghui thanked Hanoi University of Pharmacy for the hospitality and looked forward to soon signing a cooperation agreement between the two sides to implement the cooperation on training and scientific research in the coming period.
