Attendance Certificate Awarding And Cultural Exchange Events under the 2025 Student Exchange Program

As part of the student exchange program, in the afternoon of July 24, 2025, the Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HUP) held the Attendance Certificate Awarding and Cultural Exchange Event at Lecture Hall 12.

Attending the ceremony, from HUP, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam – Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Thanh Hai – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuyen – Vice Rector; representatives of lecturers from the faculties involved in the program: Faculty of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Economics and Management, Faculty of Pharmacognosy and Traditional Medicine; representatives of heads and staff from the administrative departments involved in organizing the program: Department of Science Technology and Development Cooperation, Department of Academic Affairs, Department of Student Affairs - Clinics, Department of Administration, and Department of Facilities and Equipment.

On the student side, the ceremony welcomed international student delegations from China Medical University (Taiwan, China), the University of Sydney (Australia), Paul Sabatier University (France); and HUP students from the joint program with the University of Sydney, high-quality training programs, and members of the university's music and English clubs. This ceremony marked a meaningful milestone, concluding a valuable journey of learning, cultural exchange, and culinary sharing between HUP students and international students from various countries.

At the opening of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam – Rector, delivered a welcome speech, expressing his gratitude to the international student delegations and his hope that HUP would continue to have the opportunity to welcome more international students in the coming years, thus promoting educational cooperation and cultural exchange. The student exchange program was designed by HUP with an integrated approach combining theory with practical/occupational experience, applying modern scientific approaches to indigenous knowledge in sustainable medicinal plant development – from harvesting, conservation, production to marketing.

During the sharing session, representatives from international student delegations and lecturers from the University of Sydney and China Medical University expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome from HUP and for the academic exchange experiences, team spirit, and intercultural connections developed throughout the program. In a condensed 2- to 4-week timeframe, the program offered international students a comprehensive and multidimensional perspective – not only providing new academic knowledge but also practical experiences at hospitals, pharmacies, pharmaceutical factories, and botanical gardens, including interactions with local communities involved in medicinal plant conservation. A highlight of the 2025 program was that HUP joint-program students participated alongside international students throughout the entire course.

On behalf of the HUP leadership, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Thanh Hai, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Tuyen awarded certificates of participation to the international student delegations and HUP joint-program students, recognizing their achievements, skills, and attitudes throughout the program.

The ceremony concluded with musical performances by international students and members of HUP’s Youth Union, followed by a traditional Vietnamese food experience featuring signature dishes such as bún chả, nem rán (fried spring rolls), and giò lụa (Vietnamese pork sausage). Not only did the international students enjoy the food, but they also had the chance to make and fry spring rolls themselves, guided by HUP students – creating fun, lively moments filled with laughter.

The event ended in a warm, joyful atmosphere, leaving deep and lasting impressions. The international student exchange program at Hanoi University of Pharmacy is not only an academic exchange and professional skills development initiative, but also an inspiring journey of cultural, culinary, and scenic discovery between nations.
