At the meeting, on behalf of the Directorate Board of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thi Thanh Hai, Vice Rector, Responsible and Executive expressed her gratitude and appreciation to WHO's technical support since 2006, in particular: (i) WHO has consulted and provided technical support for HUP and the Ministry of Health in developing drug information systems and adverse drug reaction monitoring in Vietnam; (ii) Established a National Center for Drug Information and Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring at Hanoi University of Pharmacy; (iii) Consulted and supported HUP in successfully mobilizing the project "Global Fund" with total value of around 7 million USD from ODA source for the period 2011-2017; (iv) In the period of 2016-2020, 05 DFC projects in contributing to training capacity, scientific research and ADR system improvement were supported by WHO.
After the presentation of the National Center for Drug Information and Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring and opinions of members who joining in the projects, the two sides agreed on a number of priority cooperation issues in the year 2021 and fiscal year 2022-2023, specifically: (i) Continue consulting and providing technical assistance for the National Center for Drug Information and Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring in the implementation of vigilance activities, pharmaceutical and drug information, development and dissemination of safety warnings post-Inoculation vaccination COVID19 based on the most updated recommendation of the World Health Organization. (ii) Provide technical assistance in innovating and developing educational programs and career development training programs in the field of clinical pharmacy and community pharmacy.
At the end of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Dinh Thi Thanh Hai assigned the National Center of Drug Information and Adverse Reaction Monitoring, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Department of Economic and Pharmaceutical Management to coordinate with Department of International Relations to propose a list of DFC proposals received technical assistance from WHO for the year of 2021 and fiscal year of 2022-2023.
