Signing Ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between Hanoi University of Pharmacy and the National University of Singapore, Singapore.
Within the framework of the AFPS Conference and sub events, on the morning of November 10th, 2023, the delegation from the National University of Singapore (NUS), led by Prof. TS. Chai Christina, Dean of the Department of Pharmacy, National University of Singapore, Singapore paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Pharmacy.
The National University of Singapore (NUS), established in 1905 as the College of Medicine, has evolved into the top comprehensive university in Singapore. It is one of the leading universities in Asia and ranks among the top 100 universities globally. NUS offers diverse programs in various fields, with strengths in civil engineering, architecture, computer science and information systems, medicine, law, business, and more. The university currently has 38,000 students from 100 countries, pursuing a wide range of academic disciplines.
For HUP’s side, at the meeting, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam, Rector, along with representatives of the Department of Science Technology - Development Cooperation, Office of Academic Affairs and related departments.
After discussions, both parties reached a consensus on prioritizing collaboration in education and research in the coming period. This collaboration includes: (i) Exchange of lecturers and students; (ii) Participation in joint research and publication of papers; coordination and sharing of specialized scientific activities among research groups from both institutions; (iii) Collaboration and support for students participating in scholarship programs during and after their undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore; (iv) Hanoi University of Pharmacy will collaborate and participate in the comprehensive cooperation program between the University of Paris V, France, and the National University of Singapore.)
These agreements were formalized through the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HUP) and the National University of Singapore, Singapore (NUS).
Following the signing ceremony, the delegation continued to attend the seminar "Clinical Pharmacy Practice Teaching Methods: Experiences from Universities Worldwide" with the presence of professors and lecturers from: University of Illinois Chicago, USA; Mahidol University, Thailand and lecturers from various universities and hospitals throughout the country.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Chai Christina, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, National University of Singapore, expressed her deep gratitude on behalf of the delegation for the hospitality of Hanoi University of Pharmacy staff and hoped that the cooperation between our both universities in education and research will be strengthened in the coming period.
