Receiving the delegation from the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)
On the morning of March 24th, 2023, following the working visit in 2022, the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) delegation led by Dr. Sang Hoon Jung paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HUP).
Welcoming the delegation, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hai Nam - Rector and Representatives of the Dept. of Science Technology - Cooperation Development and the Dept. of Pharmacognosy and Traditional Medicine.
At the meeting, Dr. Jae Wook Lee, Representative of KIST, introduced the achievements and some outstanding researches along with the high-tech lab system and facilities of the Korean Institute of Science and Technology and also introduced the internship program for undergraduate and graduate students.
On the HUP side Assoc. Prof. Tran Van On gave a presentation on research directions for product development of some Vietnamese medicinal plants in the direction of treating eye diseases, obesity, diabetes, cancer, memory loss and anti-aging.
The two sides have agreed on a number of cooperation directions in the coming time: (i) Internship program for students and master's students of HUP at the KIST; (ii) Co-mentoring program for postgraduate students, especially accepting the University's PhD students to do short-term research at KIST with salary; (iii) Exchange program for researchers and scientists between the two universites to coordinate the implementation of research topics.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Sang Hoon Jung thanked Hanoi University of Pharmacy for the warm welcome and looked forward to soon signing a cooperation agreement between the two sides to implement cooperation in Training and Scientific Research in the coming period.
